Modern Pentathlon: the sport is made up of five disciplines; swimming, running, shooting fencing and riding. There are Regional and National Championships for biathlon, triathlon, tetrathlon and pentathlon held each year, and regional and National Championships for Schools biathlon.

2009/10 Schools’ Biathlon Qualifying and British Championships
PentathlonGB, the governing body for the sport of Modern Pentathlon, has pleasure to invite the pupils of all schools in West Sussex and Surrey to compete in one of the Schools’ Biathlon Qualifying Competitions which culminate in the British Schools’ Biathlon Championships to be held at Aldershot Garrison on 21st March 2010.
Dates and venues for all the 15 Qualifying Competitions can be found on the schools section of our website at www.pentathlongb.org. This is an open invitation and all schools are eligible to compete.
The competition comprises a 50m swim for years 5 - 7 and Teachers with a 500m run. For years 8 to 13 the distances are 100m swim and 1000m run. The points system has been adjusted accordingly.

The South East region Schools Biathlon is to be held at K2 Crawley on 29th November 2009 for Surrey and East Sussex schools .
