Sussex County Sports Partnership Trustees

The Sussex CSP Trust officially took over the partnership’s operations from its former host (University of Brighton) on 1 January 2008. The statutory governance of the Sussex CSP rests with its Board of Trustees. The chair is Dr. Sarah Gilroy who, along with the members shown below, has been appointed to 30 June 2009. The first meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on 31 January 2008.

The role of the Board of Trustees is principally to ensure that the partnership operates within its Memorandum and Articles of Association, and to ensure that the necessary policies and procedures are in place to enable the Trust to comply with statutory company and charity regulations.

Furthermore, with a depth of skill and experience across the private, public and voluntary sport and health sector, the Trustees will act as high profile advocates for the work of the Trust internally and externally.

Sarah Gilroy - Chairman

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sarah began her professional career training to teach physical education and has largely worked as a lecturer within the University sector, whilst also maintaining a high level of involvement in sport as a coach and participant.

Since 1998 Sarah has been a senior manager at the University of Chichester and since 2002 has been operating strategically as a member of the executive team.

Her current role is Pro Vice-Chancellor with a University-wide portfolio. In addition, she is also the University’s strategic lead on the ‘Sussex 2012 Working Group’. In this role Sarah continues to be a member of the University’s executive team providing strategic direction on the broad subject areas of sport, education and social sciences.
